Your Ultimate Guide: Best Beach Picnic Ideas
Think ahead when you are preparing the perfect picnic at the Island Lake summer village. It’s better to come prepared and make a list when you are packaging, so you won’t end up enjoying the view on the beach and realize that you forget to bring the most important thing. Here is a list of things you may consider bringing for your perfect picnic at the beach.
1. Don’t bring a beach towel anymore!
You may choose to bring a beach towel in your experience and find out how annoying it is to pick up all the water and sand. We recommend you bring a sand-proof beach blanket. It keeps your area clean without all the sand and water.
2. How will you arrange the food?
Do you want something light? Try a boogie board. Bringing a waterproof outdoor blanket is a perfect choice if you prefer something solid. You can carry all your food, arrange them and make a post to leave a good memory.
3. Keep your food fresh
Lying on the beach all day and enjoying your picnic may mean leaving your food in a dangerous temperature zone, ranging between 5°C and 60°C. You may risk getting sick because of food poisoning bacteria in this situation. To avoid this, you want to keep your food fresh. Ideally, you need to tightly wrap raw meat or put them in a separate cooler. And don’t forget to bring ice! To save some space, you can freeze the water you are about to drink. Not only you have more cold water to drink, but it will also keep your cooler working better and longer.
4. What are the perfect snacks?
Some ideal snacks give you energy and nutrition and don’t need to cook: fruit, chips, beef jerky, nuts and energy bars. Some sweet snacks like cakes, cookies and brownies are also excellent choices to make your day better!
5. Remember to clean up.
Bring some wet wipes to clean up, so you don’t have to run to the wave to clean your hands and make your feet covered in sand again. Bring a bag for all the garbage and leave the beach in an even better place than you came.
6. Fun things to do
Except for a picnic at the beach, enjoy the view, and talk to your friends. You can have a better time with your family or friends by playing games. A little shovel and a bucket can create many fun games for kids. Sports like volleyball are also fun to enjoy family time together.
7. Stay comfortable and safe.
Bring your sunscreen and sunglasses. Be careful if you plan to swim in the water. Stay safe and have fun. Escape from the city and come to the beach. Enjoy the waves, fresh air and sand, and have the best summer with your family and friends at island lake summer village.

Alberta Cat Who Loves to Paddle with His Human
Gray is an Alberta housecat, who loves hiking, skiing and padding! Gary from the mountain town of Canmore has also been across mountain ranges, explored frozen lakes, and—his favourite—been gently rocked to sleep on boat bows. Throughout it all, he was captured in images and videos that propelled him to fame on Instagram.
According to owner Eastham, he adopted the Gray, who is grey, white, fluffy, and "pretty cute," from the Calgary Humane Society around five years ago. And his thirst for freedom made him famous online." Gary tried to escape our apartment, so we decided if he wanted to go outside, he'd have to go out on a leash," Eastham added. He started training him. As Gary got more confident outside, he took him to the local park and shorter hikes. Gary eventually was able to do day hikes, paddling and even skiing. Paddling is Gary's favourite activity. He enjoys the sunshine while gently rocking to sleep by the waves while sitting in front of Eastham's boat. It's a bit unusual as people don't see a lot of cats out doing these.
Eastham suggests pet owners who want to get their cats into adventuring do it slowly. He said Gary was a pretty tolerant cat, and he has been worked up to this over a long time, which is why Gary is comfortable with it. It's not recommended to just stuff Fluffy in a bag and going to hit the slopes. "That probably won't go well," he said. For more information read the full story.

Take your paw friends to do activities with you; chances are they will enjoy the activities as much as you do. Maybe your pet will be the next Instagram star like Gary too!
